Governmental Affairs

The Governmental Affairs Division
is made up of two committees:

Legislative Affairs Committee

  • Accelerate growth in the private sector by supporting a pro-growth tax code
  • Meets weekly leading up to and during State Legislative Session to preview legislation
  • Works with Chamber President to develop Federal Legislative Agenda for annual Washington DC trip
  • Hosts meetings with state delegation prior to session
  • Hosts post session review luncheon
  • Hosts Strategic Luncheons and Roundtables with US Senators and Congressional delegation
  • Works with the Governor and administrative staff as needed to advocate for business and industry in Central Louisiana
  • Political Action Committee (PAC)
  • Hosts Central Louisiana Day at the Legislature

Infrastructure Committee

  • Meets quarterly to facilitate regional infrastructure priorities list
  • Supports municipalities, MPO, Red River Waterway Commission, Central Louisiana Regional Port, Fort Polk, England Airpark infrastructure priorities
  • Compiles priorities list and advocates for funding of the projects
  • Advocates for Gulf Coast Strategic Highway, Central Louisiana Beltway and 12 foot channel in the Red River
