Each year the Central Louisiana Regional Chamber of Commerce hosts an annual Women in Business Conference FRIDAY, AUGUST 26, AT THE HOLIDAY INN DOWNTOWN ALEXANDRIA CONVENTION CENTER. This full day conference featuring four learning tracks with three breakout sessions with seminar topics ranging from starting a business to resources for small businesses to being a healthier you. The conference provides an excellent opportunity for central Louisiana women to network, learn and empower one another.

2016 MORNING KEY NOTE SPEAKER: COLONEL CINDY HAYGOOD - 11:00 AM
Col. Cindy Haygood is the first female to command the Louisiana Army National Guard's 225th Engineer Brigade and the first female to lead a second direct reporting unit.
Before assuming command of the 225th, Col Haygood most notably served as the Battalion Executive Officer of the 769th Engineer Battalion, the 768th Engineer Battalion Commander, and most recently as the 139th Regional Support Group Commander. Col. Haygood mobilized and served as the Battalion Executive Officer during Operation Iraqi Freedom in Multinational Division-Braghdad and for Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
Col. Haygood graduated from Louisiana State University in 1991 and holds a Bachelors of Arts in Economics. Her military education includes Engineer Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, Combined Arms and Services Staff School, Intermediate Level Education Course and Operations Course. 

 

2016 LUNCH KEY NOTE SPEAKER: DENISE ESTOPINAL - 12:00 PM

 
As a journalist, a government communications professional and a community and public affairs executive, Denise Estopinal developed a sophisticated knowledge of the connections and the opportunity that could be realized through cooperation and collaboration.

Denise began her career in radio in Thibodaux, LA, and in television in Alexandria, LA, where she covered government and politics. Following her work as a journalist, she directed communications for the mayor of New Orleans (1994-1999). Subsequent to her work with the City, she was appointed the first Public and Community Affairs Executive for the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Judicial Circuit, leading media and community relations for federal judges in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. Denise holds a Masters of Public Administration from the University of New Orleans and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Louisiana State University.
