2009 Legislative Issues Conference

Central Louisiana Chamber of Commerce, Alexandria, Louisiana, March 4, 2009--The annual Louisiana Association of Business and Industry (LABI) Legislative Issues Conference will be held on Monday, March 16, 2009, at 11:30am-1:00pm.  The event, sponsored by Jiffy Lube, will take place at the Best Western Conference Center located at 2720 North MacArthur Drive in Alexandria.

Dan Juneau, LABI President, will present LABI’s priorities for the upcoming 2009 regular legislative session, the state’s fiscal outlook, and will discuss federal legislation that could dramatically affect Louisiana businesses.  John LeBlanc, LABI Director of Taxation and Finance, will present LABI’s plans for introducing a “taxpayer fairness” legislative package next session.

Juneau
has spent the past 33 years designing and implementing key reforms in areas such as taxation, civil justice, workers and unemployment compensation, and public education.  He also plays a major role in state economic development efforts.  He believes that business’ participation in the legislative arena is essential for economic development and prosperity in Louisiana.
