Alexandria/Pineville Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, June 28, 2007 -- The Alexandria/Pineville Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Greater Alexandria Economic Development Authority (GAEDA) and the Central Louisiana Chamber of Commerce are proud to offer two Customer Service Training sessions in July 2007. These two training sessions are FREE to all participants and open to all business and industry in the Alexandria/Pineville area. They are designed to assist with enhancing customer service and are title "The Experience is the Difference".
The sessions will be held on July 10, on the third floor of the Alexandria Museum of Art, located at 933 Main Street, Alexandria. The morning session is scheduled from 8:30am - 11:30am with registration beginning at 8:00am. The afternoon session is scheduled from 1:30pm - 4:30pm with registration beginning at 1:00pm.
The purpose of the sessions is to educate attendees about the role of tourism in our economy and the increased business opportunities that tourism can offer for the Alexandria/Pineville area. Tourism and visitation contribute to our community by decreasing our annual taxes and also allows for economic diversity. Each session explains how attendees can become an ambassador for our area. It is our responsibility to inform visitors about the opportunities within our communities.
Session topics will include defining the tourist and anticipating their needs, the value of tourism to our community, and the updated concept of how we all work independently, yet all collaborate as a team to strengthen our economy through increased visitation to the area. Dr. Linda Vincent Broussard, a certified training consultant, will conduct these sessions.
These customer service training sessions are essential for anyone who welcomes visitors to our area. Front desk personnel, housekeeping, restaurant, cashiers, airport staff, tourist attractions and attendants will benefit. We strongly encourage your attendance for this informative training; we feel that any organization will strongly benefit. Please contact Sherry Smith at (318) 442-9546 for more information. Space is limited.
